Four practices, one point of accountability
Why BODE Group is organised as four separate practices that share their drawings and their responsibility, and what that means for the person who owns the house.

When people hear that BODE Group covers construction, interior design, procurement and solar, some assume we are a large contractor that does a little of everything. The structure is more deliberate than that, and it grew out of problems we kept meeting on site.
Where projects usually break
Most building problems in Bali do not start inside a single trade. They start in the gaps between trades. The contractor pours a slab before the kitchen layout is final, so the drains end up in the wrong place. The interior designer specifies a heavy stone basin for a wall that was never reinforced to carry it. Someone adds solar panels to a roof that was framed without them in mind.
Each party did its own job correctly. The house still suffers, and the owner pays to put it right.
Separate practices, shared drawings
Our answer was to keep each discipline as a practice of its own, with its own specialists and its own standards, while making all of them work from one set of drawings. BODE Construction knows where the joinery will sit because BODE Interior drew it in the same week. The roof is framed for a future solar array because BODE Solar was asked about it before the trusses were ordered.
Procurement plays a slightly different role. Some owners prefer to hire an outside contractor, and BODE Procurement exists to help them find a good one and compare prices fairly. The same thinking still applies. Every contractor prices the same brief against the same bill of quantities, and one person can explain both to you.
Four kinds of expertise, and one place where the responsibility stops.
Why each practice has its own site
We gave each practice its own address under bode.id because owners arrive with different questions. Someone choosing finishes for an existing villa has little interest in foundation design. Someone curious about solar wants the numbers first and a sales conversation much later, if at all. Each site goes deep on its own subject, while this one explains how they connect.
What it means for you
In practice, accountability is simple. You have one contract or one main contact, depending on the services you choose, and that person answers for how the parts fit together. If the joinery does not fit the wall, it is not a discussion between two companies. It is our problem, and we treat it that way.
If you are still deciding which of the practices your project needs, the overview on our What We Do page is a good place to start, and a short conversation usually settles the rest.
